![]() ![]() ![]() I found the gear shifting/change to be a little slow/rough, meaning you have to find the right rpms to shift smoothly, but maybe it's to reinforce the 'race bike' behavior, which it does. In Sim' mode the physics are ok but not on par with such game as Poliphony's 'Tourist Trophy'. The first 2 levels are easy to master while the 'simulation' takes some more time. Handling, Gameplay: 3 levels of riding skills will take you to 'full-assist- Arcade' to 'Advanced' and 'Simulation' depending on your choice. The 'cockpit view' camera angle is always appreciated, menu is clean and easy to navigate, and I find game loading to be a bit slo w. They're on par with the Namco series, although a tiny more finished, but still below the 'Tourist Trophy' quality. Graphics/Presentation: The graphics of this game are good without being too refined. I liked the fact that you can compete in the 125 and 250 class as well as the MotoGP class, the smaller bikes are great to learn the ropes and earn bike upgrades while competing on the 18 official MotoGP tracks. This is now the official game for moto gp (a first for Capcom) so I figured it should be good because the previous series by Namco was (and still is) a blast to play. I bought this game because I play any games involving motorcycles (dirt, street or speed). ![]() For the rest of us, MotoGP 08 also offers an extended "Arcade" mode, with easier control and more forgiving physics for fast-paced, knuckle-bumping races that reward risky riding. Players can create custom rider characters to race as in the championship circuit, or take the roles of their favorite real-life MotoGP racers, including the United States' Nicky Hayden, Italian Valentino Rossi, and Shinya Nakano of Japan, as well as 2007's reigning champ, Australia's Casey Stoner.Īs did earlier games in the series, MotoGP 08 aims to present dedicated fans of the MotoGP circuit with an accurate simulation of the annual super-bike competition, using real-world track condition data, motorcycle specifications from top manufacturers, and a specially developed physics model to create realistic racing challenges. Following the schedule of the specialty racing league's 2008 season, MotoGP 08 presents 18 rounds of souped-up motorbike racing through authentic re-creations of 16 different European, Asian, and Australian venues. ![]()
